Measuring impact remains one of the most discussed and most challenging topics in our community. Many of us wrestle with what to measure, how to measure it, and how to make sense of the results. It’s a perennial tension in philanthropy, especially when spiritual impact is part of the picture.

That’s why we’re hosting a conversation with James Waters (PCP Conference Speaker, 2024) to explore a groundbreaking study on the current state of impact measurement within Christian philanthropy. James interviewed leaders from 90 organizations across the Christian impact ecosystem—foundations, funds, accelerators, businesses, charities, and advisors—asking questions such as:

  • What are you currently doing to measure impact?

  • Where do you experience the greatest pain points?

  • What would your “dream scenario” look like?

  • How would better information change your work?

Many PCP members participated in this research, and the findings paint a striking picture of the field today.

Key Insights from the Study
  • 70% of Christian organizations rely solely on stories and basic activity numbers.

  • 100% of leaders struggle to measure spiritual impact in meaningful ways.

  • Only 10% have a formal spiritual impact plan.

  • Very few have successfully integrated spiritual metrics into daily operations.

  • Most organizations have little clarity on the true long-term impact of their programs.

Join us for this important conversation as we unpack what James learned and explore how these insights can shape the future of Christian philanthropy.

James Waters founded Kingdom Impact with a conviction: that impact measurement is a form of stewardship. For a decade, he’s helped faith-driven organizations worldwide understand and articulate how God is working through their efforts.

Under his leadership, Kingdom Impact has developed tools for organizational and fund-level impact, and spearheaded global initiatives like the KIF Spiritual Impact Learning Community and the Christian Impact Framework Project.
