Montgomery Experiential Learning Trip
Over the course of 2.5 days together we will go on a journey of spiritual formation to equip us as Christ-followers to engage well in the complexities of injustice, nuanced contexts, imbalanced power dynamics, trauma, and more — complexities that are inherent in grantmakers’ work.
We’ll undertake this experience together in Montgomery, Alabama, a place with a history that is itself complex and nuanced, full of both hope and pain. In partnership with Arrabon, which will facilitate our time in Montgomery, we’ll come together in the mornings for workshops in spiritual formation, spend the afternoon at Legacy Sites to experience the raw emotions that these sites provoke, and debrief and process together in the evenings.
While this Experiential Learning trip will be located in a particular place with a particular context and particular kinds of brokenness, it is not only for those whose grantmaking is focused on these particularities. No matter your foundation’s geographic or strategic priorities, I’m confident that this experience will serve you and your foundation well, equipping you with skills and frameworks to help you be a better grantmaker.
Registration will close on Friday July 25 and space is limited, so don't wait!
