In February, we hosted a webinar exploring the implications of the USAID funding freeze, featuring leaders from the Christian relief and development space—including representatives from the Accord Network, which serves more than 160 North American Christian NGOs, many supported by PCP members. That session highlighted early disruptions, difficult questions, and a shared desire for thoughtful, mission-driven responses.

Now, several months later, we’re reconvening for Part 2: “Beyond the Crisis – A Vision for U.S. Foreign Assistance.” On June 10th from Noon to 1 PM EST

We’ll be joined by Michael Cerna who is the Chief Executive Officer for Accord, Peter Howard, who serves as a Senior Fellow for Transformation at the Accord; and Randy Tift, who is an advisor to international development organizations and who led USAID’s reform initiative (2017–2021).

This funders-only session will provide an update on what has unfolded since February and how Accord members are responding—some facing staffing cuts, program closures, and setbacks to long-term strategies. Others may not be directly impacted but are closely accompanying vulnerable communities that are.

As funders, we’re all discerning how best to respond. Some are asking how to stop the bleeding, while others are seeking more strategic, mission-aligned approaches for the long term. This conversation offers a space to listen, reflect, and share insights with peers navigating similar challenges.

Key topics we’ll explore together:

  • How much of the sector has been disrupted

  • What funders can learn from shifting U.S. government policies

  • How this moment is sparking innovation and new models

  • The role Christian relief and development orgs might play in a future assistance framework

  • How to lead with steady, relational philanthropy in uncertain times

  • What PCP members are hearing from partners—and how they’re responding

We’ll also preview the Accord Network’s forthcoming white paper offering a Christian sector perspective on U.S. foreign assistance. While 80% of Accord members don’t receive direct U.S. funding, they’re deeply impacted by the broader landscape—making this moment critical for both public and private donors to understand and engage.

Whether you’re actively funding in this space or simply looking to stay informed, we hope you’ll join us.
