Professional Bio

Kate Sedgwick is Vice President of Professionals in Christian Philanthropy, where she has served since 2018. Her role grew as PCP grew, from part-time administrator and program manager to program director once PCP was ready for full-time staff. In her current role as VP, she shapes programs and nurtures member relationships. Kate's work centers on creating conditions where trust can take root. She connects members to meaningful peer relationships, designs learning experiences that honor the wisdom already in the room, and leads PCP's Annual Conference.

Before PCP, Kate's career was rooted in academia, and she is an experienced researcher, educator, and facilitator. She designed and taught courses for middle schoolers, undergraduates, and graduate students, and studied religion, education, and American intellectual life in the 19th and 20th centuries. She brings an instinct for good questions and a commitment to genuine learning to everything she does.

Trained as an historian, Kate now enjoys the freedom to read history just for fun. After decades of life on both coasts, she now makes her home in Iowa, happily settled near the middle of the country where she has learned to love the tallgrass prairie but still misses the mountains.
