Learning from Funds: Insights into Collaborative Grantmaking
A Conversation with Henry Kaestner (Solving the World's Greatest Problems), Stephan & Belinda Bauman (Together International), and Travis Cramer (Strategic Resource Group)

Wednesday, June 10 | 12 PM–1:15 PM ET

75-minute live conversation

A growing trend in philanthropy is the rise of pooled giving through funds, creating new pathways for collaboration, efficiency, shared learning, and strategic focus. This session offers a low-pressure opportunity to hear from three distinct funds, each varying in size, focus, and history. Through short presentations, speakers will share what their funds focus on, how they are structured, and how they approach due diligence.

For funders, these models can offer meaningful practical value. For those seeking to maintain lean teams or navigating capacity constraints, funds provide a way to stay meaningfully engaged without carrying the full weight of sourcing, due diligence, and ongoing management.

They can also serve as a window into a broader ecosystem of organizations. Participants may discover new organizations through a fund's portfolio and, where appropriate, explore more direct relationships over time.

We’re pleased to welcome Henry Kaestner from Solving the World's Greatest Problems, Stephan and Belinda Bauman from Together International, and Travis Cramer from Strategic Resource Group

Session Format

Each presenter will offer a 15-minute overview of their fund. After all have shared, we will open the conversation for follow up questions, discussion, and Q&A.

Our goal is not to advocate for any single fund, but to create space for thoughtful engagement and shared learning, helping members consider how these models, structures, and approaches might inform or complement their own grantmaking work.
